TERRE HAUTE – Mrs. Anette Darnell, 98, of 1336 Chestnut St., Terre Haute, was fatally stricken and dead on arrival in St. Anthony Hospital here Tuesday. She had taught school in Parke and Vigo counties until her retirement in 1949 and at one time had lived near Marshall. Born July 4, 1876, in Virginia, she was a daughter of William and Mary Rutledge Baldwin. She married James Darnell, who preceded her in death. Four brothers and two sisters also are deceased. Survivors include nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Rice Funeral Home at Marshall with the Rev. Fred Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday prior to the services. – jlr
